Gaines Garrett

Gaines Garrett is the CEO of Secure Shredding and Recycling. He graduated from Louisiana State University (LSU) with a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences in 2008 and later earned his MBA with a focus on Finance and Entrepreneurship in 2010. Since joining the family business in early 2017, Gaines has played a key role in growing the company from 3 trucks operating in South Louisiana, to more than 40 trucks spread across the Southeast US. This growth has established Secure Shredding & Recycling as one of the largest independently-owned shredding companies in the country. In 2023, Gaines led the acquisition of Protec Recycling in Birmingham, AL. This acquisition has allowed Secure Shredding to offer electronics recycling services to its clients in a meaningful way. Additionally, he holds the Certified Secure Destruction Specialist (CSDS) designation, demonstrating his expertise in the data destruction industry.
